Former Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, has denied the claim that Vice President Dr. To have approved Mahamudu Bawumia or another New Patriotic Party (NPP) figure for the standard-bearer position in relation to the 2024 general election.

“My attention was drawn to a publication on pages 1 and 11 of the Daily Dispatch, dated Wednesday, May 19, 2021, claiming that I, Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye, said that Bawumia should be the standard bearer of the Be NPP 2024.

“I would like to emphasize that I have not endorsed anyone as the standard bearer of the 2024 nuclear power plant,” he said in a press release.

According to Prof. Oquaye, an interview he gave Raymond Kumah, host of Okyeman TV, was misinterpreted by the media house to mean that he had approved of the vice president.

He noted that the only question he answered regarding the Vice President was the country’s digitization initiative, which had to be carried out by the government.

“After I followed the progress of Ghana’s digitization initiative under Dr. When asked Bawumia, I stated categorically: ‘It will be fantastic if we can continue with this digitization, automation and ICT. This complements the good work done by the Hon. Ursula in the Ministry of Communications, ”he said.

In the press release, he also listed several other ministers of state whom he believes are equally “excellent materials” and stated, “I look at Dr. Bawumia as an “A-Plus” actor, but also other NPP stalwarts, including the Hon. Akoto, Hon. Ursula, Dr. Prempeh. “

He continued: “The Minister of Commerce is now a global authority for international trade, business and investment. The Africa Trade Organization headquarters etc. exemplifies it. In addition, Dr. Akoto the development of our food industry at home and abroad in our agricultural industry. His work is unprecedented in Ghana.

“The brilliance of Hon. Ursula in the application of ICT for national development must be spoken of without prejudice. She’s a plus too. Similarly, Dr. Prempeh faces the challenges in the Department of Energy as well as the Department of Education, and we all look up to him and other brilliant stars that we elders are proud of, ”he said.

He therefore asked the public to discourage any allegation of support for Dr. Ignoring Bawumia or anyone else at the NPP.

“To have misinterpreted and misrepresented the comment on Ghana’s digitization progress as an indication that a certain person should be the standard bearer of the NPP in 2024 is not only inaccurate, but a complete lie,” he emphasized.
